FALL '08 REEL!! Wow! Small (7.6 mb) / Large (20 mb) / Breakdown List Yeah!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Adobe: See What's Possible (10.2 mb), TRT 0:15, created using: After Effects 7.0, Photoshop CS2, Flash 8
My entry into the Cut & Paste and Adobe "See What's Possible" Challenge in which I had to convey the idea of the possibilities of Photoshop and incorporate
the new Photoshop logo; from a crude line drawing to a stylized painting to a photo collage, anything is possible for the creative mind; I actually had a lot of fun with this.
I <3 Brooklyn (3.5 mb), TRT 0:08, created using: After Effects 7.0, Google Image Search
A short, personal project stemming from concepts of photo collage, modernism, mock set-building, and my love for Brooklyn, NY.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Hot Off The Grill (13.3 mb), TRT 3:26, created using: Maya 7.0, After Effects 7.0, Photoshop CS2
My Senior Thesis; a 3D animated short about Joe Everyman's attempts to cook a steak; my allegorical commentary on much of modern society's misconceptions, stubbornness, and ill character.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Soft Bunny (3.2 mb), TRT: 0:34, created using: Maya 7.0
A class assignment; just having some fun experimenting with soft-body dynamics; received a "good stuff" note from my professor.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Floyd Boyd At The Beach (2.2 mb), TRT 0:38, created using: Flash 8
A class assignment in which I wanted to focus more on the aesthetic rather than on animation;
the original story involved the sleazy protagonist getting slapped after involuntarily exposing himself to a large group of women, but I ran out of time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Robot Attack (1.7 mb), TRT: 0:17, created using: Maya 7.0
A class assignment; I consider this to be my cornerstone animation; I feel this is when I really learned something about how to animate and began cultivating my style of animation.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Men's Room (0.5 mb), TRT: 0:40, created using: After Effects 7.0
A class assignment; my first real excursion into After Effects; an instructional video for men on how to use the lavatory.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Monster Pie (2.2 mb), TRT: 1:00, created using: Flash 8
A class assignment in which I again focused more on the aesthetic rather than on animation;
taking a note from John Kricfalusi, I was inspired by modernist animation (of which I am a huge fan) and a specific Yogi Bear cartoon, Pie Pirates (1958).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Monster Tag (1.0 mb), TRT: 0:34, created using: Flash 8
A class assignment in which I was again focusing on the aesthetic over animation; the initial incarnation of the monster character.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Ray Gun Attack (0.4 mb), TRT: 0:08, created using: Maya 7.0
A class assignment; just having some fun after learning some new things about animation; note the suh-weet squash & stretch.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Rube Goldberg's Rigid Bodies (3.9 mb), TRT: 0:53, created using: Maya 7.0
A class assignment; again having some fun, this time with rigid body dynamics; inspired by Rube Goldberg's machines; I also started developing my palette and rendering style here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------^TOP
Superhero Team: The Enlarger (0.6 mb), TRT: 0:12, created using: Flash 8
My contribution to a short, class-collaborative project; we were to each create a short animation of a superhero and would combine them all
to form a longer animation of our "Superhero Team;" others included a large set of teeth that ate everything and a masked dancing man.
